Are frozen foods that are exposed to freon gas still safe to eat?

Freon gas is the fuel used in most modern refrigerators and freezers. It is tasteless, odorless, and non-toxic. If freezer or refrigerator coils are punctured, freon may escape. Foods stored in the freezer will be safe to eat.
