Can jelly and jam be frozen without harming the gel?

Jam and jelly can be frozen without harming the gel. Just be sure the container is suitable for use in the freezer (shaped correctly so that it does not break). Also be sure enough headspace is available for expansion of the contents during freezing. It is a good practice to freeze jams and jellies that have a reduced sugar content since the sugar is not there to prevent microbial growth, and preserve the color and flavor of the product.
