What is white chocolate?

Rating: 0

White chocolate is actually a misnomer for products made in the U.S. (In Europe, the name white chocolate is the term used for the product described below.) The actual product is "white cocoa butter- based confectionery coating." It is a blend of sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk, and flavorings. This product should not be called "chocolate" in the United States since it does not contain cocoa solids. If the word cocoa butter isn't in the description, a different vegetable fat is probably the source of the fat in the product. These products would not contain the stimulants found in other cocoa bean based products.
