Home | Category: Foods -- Eggs Foods -- EggsShould eggs be discarded after the expiration date that is stamped on the carton?Rating: 100 USDA inspected egg processing plants must display a date on egg cartons. This date is related to the date that the eggs were packed. The date cannot exceed 30 days after packing. Fresh eggs can be safely stored in their carton under refrigeration for up to five weeks after the expiration date without any significant loss of quality. Always thoroughly cook eggs to minimize risk for foodborne illness.
