 Foodservice Resources
The foodservice industry provides work for 13.1 million individuals,
making it the second largest employer besides government. Each day
nearly $1.5 billion is spent eating out. The foodservice industry is
very proactive in providing training and education opportunities for its
employees, particularly in the area of food safety. According to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention over half of all reported
foodborne illnesses are attributed to foodservice. To help this
important industry, a wide variety of food safety training programs and
training aids are available. The training aids are specific to the
operational type.
