Is a jar of green beans that has about 3/8-inch foam at the top safe to eat?

Foaming is simply bubbles forming on a liquid. The fact that these bubbles were present one hour after processing indicates that a substance other than the water was present. I think that given only one jar showed signs of bubbling that it was probably the soap. Tell her to smell the green beans - they should have a distinctive soapy odor if this was the cause. If she cannot detect a soap odor, I see no reason why she cannot use the beans.
