Why did the lid on a jar pop on a jar immediately after the ring band was removed?

1) The rim of the jar might not have been properly cleaned before placement of the lid onto the jar. So even when processed, a complete seal was not formed. Therefore, the ring was holding the lid in place so when it was removed, the lid popped. 2) Kerr(r) lids have a tendency to buckle. Was this a Kerr(r) lid? Reprocess using a different type of lid. 3) She might not have treated the lids before placement on the jar. She might not have dipped the lids in boiling water. This softens the sealing compound to result in a better, more complete seal.
