Program for Congregate Nutrition Sites

Fighting BAC! was jointly developed by Dr. Angela Fraser, Associate Professor/Food Safety Education Specialist, NC State University, and Ms. Audrey Edmisten, Nutrition Consultant, NC Division of Aging. This four-hour curriculum was designed to help congregate nutrition site (CNS) managers and food handlers meet the NC Division of Aging food safety requirements.  It is not intended to be used with CNS volunteers.  

Educator's Instructional Slide Set -- 46 slides that correspond with the Fighting BAC! Participant Manual. The slides include basic food safety information as well as activities.

Instructor's Manual -- This 10-page guide provides an overview of how to deliver and evaluate the Fighting BAC! food safety curriculum.

Participant Manual -- This 33-page manual corresponds with the instructional slide set.  A copy of the manual can be printed for each participant or one copy can be presented to each site.

Training Certificate -- This certificate can be issued at the end of the training session.

Food Safety Music -- Parodies of popular songs to make learning about food safety fun.
