If a canned pickle becomes unsealed during storage, is it safe to eat?

If pickles or any canned product becomes unsealed during storage, they must be considered spoiled. Organisms are growing and producing gas that builds up pressure to force the seal open. While it might be a desirable lactic acid organism, there is no way to visibly tell.
