How do I prevent white crystals from forming in grape juice?

Rating: 86

Home canned grape juice can develop white crystals upon storage. These are tartaric acid crystals that are harmless. To prevent their formation, refrigerate the juice overnight before canning. Carefully pour the juice from the refrigerated container so the crystals remain in the container. Continue with canning instructions.
